She Knew She Loved Him But.....

She knew she loved him but….
Kenya knew that Anthony was an awesome guy and he treated her like she was the queen of his universe.  She knew she loved him but he was too much of a player and had too many women outside of their relationship.  Anthony was the type of guy who had graduated from college with is master’s degree in Criminal Justice and owned a successful security business and to be completely honest, the brotha was paid and had his stuff together.  He was the cream of the crop and lived a lifestyle that was exciting, which took her into a world that outside what she was accustomed to.   Not to mention how good he looked.  Anthony was the truth and Kenya knew it, but she had to decide to whether to try to commit to a relationship and share her man or just have fun and enjoy the ride.
After a several weeks Kenya decided that she was going to stay in the relationship because she wanted to enjoy the ride.  She said to herself that she wasn’t quit settle down and enjoyed shopping in Paris, taking long walks on the beach in Spain, and having breakfast in Los Angeles and then flying in Anthony’s private jet for dinner in Cuba.  This lifestyle was something that Kenya always wanted and dreamed of.  The only problem Kenya had was that she wasn’t sure if Anthony even loved her.
After a six months of mind blowing shopping trips, romantic dinners by the ocean, and flying all over the world, Kenya decided that her romantic adventure needed to come to an end.  She could no longer be with a man who didn’t love her no matter how much money he had.  Plus, she didn’t know how many other women Anthony had on the side.  She planned to break off their relationship on their next trip to the Aspen.
As the jet touched down in just outside of Aspen Kenya decided to break of the relationship at dinner, she knew she loved him but could not go on being just another woman in Anthony’s life.  At dinner at the top of the mountain overlooking the forest, Kenya decided that her moment has come.  She looked Anthony in his eyes and said Anthony I have something to tell you. Anthony interrupted Kenya by standing to his feet then dropping to one knee, when his head lifted again he had tears in his eyes and said will you marry me.  With tears in her eyes she gladly excepted and was glad she didn’t break up with Anthony as she planned.

Man mistakes wife for deer, shoots and kills her

How many men wish they could use this story when their wife is giving them a hard time in their respective marriages, especially when it comes to hunting? I have been hunting a few times throughout my life and can say that I have never though another member of my hunting party was a deer.  I guess all of the bright orange clothes was sort of a give-away for me.
HEIDELBERG, Miss. — Officials are investigating a deadly hunting incident in Jasper County.
WDAM-TV reports that the incident involved a husband and wife who were hunting Saturday and became separated near Heidelberg. The husband reportedly shot his wife after mistaking her for a deer.
The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks is investigating the incident, along with the Jasper County Sheriff's Department. Sheriff's investigator Thad Windham confirmed a fatal shooting had occurred, but referred questions to the wildlife agency. An agency spokesman James Walker couldn't be reached immediately for comment Monday.
Although, this may go down as an accidental shooting, it makes a person wonder what the conversation was like before the couple left home. It also bring up the point of, were all of the safety guideline being followed.  I guess the next time I decide to hunt for wild game I will make sure I don’t piss off the people I am hunting with.

You fired the wrong guy.

One of the greatest players to ever play the game has been fired by the Minnesota Vikings. Randy Moss (my favorite player) was traded back to the team (Minnesota Vikings) who drafted him before the 1998 season. Fans of the Vikings were satisfied at the fact that our season could be salvaged with the addition of Moss. The Vikings as a team were very happy that this addition would free up key players on offense thereby allowing more chances to score point. The Minnesota Vikings foolishly traded him under the direction of the all time stupidest coach Mike Tice to the Okland Radiers after the 2004 season. After this trade Vikings fans could only watch as their hero was playing for another team.  Then in 2010 an announcement was made Randy Moss was coming back the where he started his career.  He was finally coming home to the fans of Minnesota.

Three games after Moss came home he was fired and released from the Minnesota Vikings by the next dumbest coach Brad "The Idiot" Childress.  Viking's fans across the world are asking for Childress's head on a platter.  Before the firing fans already wanted him gone because he was such a bad coach but after this move people want him gone today.  I for one agree that he should be fired and banned from the NFL forever.

Down with Due Rags

I was on my way to school and decieded to take the bus and the train so that I could have some time to read and study before my class this morning.  As I got on the bus I noticed a young man with a du-rag on his head.  This is a common act among the African-American young men.  The du-rag is used as a fashion statement as well as a method of grooming one's hair.  So when I saw the young man with his du-rag on, I honestly have to say that I didn't pay any real attention to it.

Two stops into my ride I noticed a group of African-American women getting on the bus and guess what, they all had du-rags or at least some kind of wrap on thier heads.  I thought to myself, "how hard would it have been to brush your hair or put on a hat?"  Just as I was getting that thought through my head another group of African-American men and women got on the bus and guess what they had on each of thier head?  You guessed it, a du-rags.

I mean come on, is the du-rag the new hat or is it just another excuse black folks are coming up with not to do something correctly.  How long does it take for a man to brush his head before he walks out of the house?  How long does it take a woman to pull her hair back in a pony tail or throw on a wig before exiting the front door?  Maybe I'll never know the answer but I can say that I will never be caught leaving my home with a du-rag on my head.

Crushing for Jesus

I have been preforming an awesome task of crushing full cans of soda and breaking brick for people who need to change their lives.  I am known as "The Crusher", on Jeff Warner's Ultimate Strength Team.  We are a group of men, with different life stories, who are dedicated to changing the lives of people who are in similar situations and challenges we have face in our own lives.  We have been to schools and have held week long crusades to reach people who are in need of help.  We are not just a bunch of men who like to break and crush stuff, but extend our services beyond the actual service or event.  We have been all over the world teaching people how to change their lives and circumstances.

Jeff Warner is a man who had a lot of childhood struggles, he overcame these struggles and became a Superstar with WCW, WWF, and also in professional boxing.  After boxing he hit rock bottom loosing everything including his family, which led him to changing his life.  He dedicated his life to God and started the Ultimate Strength Team.  His family was restored, he started a church, and has been helping people change their lives every since.  He has been so instrumental in some many peoples lives that Hollywood is making a movie about his life.

Fast Food...So Good...So Bad

I recently did a paper about fast food and discovered that people who eat fast food on a regular are in danger. Here is a small list of burger and their fat and calorie intake.

Big Mac McDonald's 540 calories and 30 grams of fat
Whopper Burger King 670 calories and 39 grams of fat
Baconator Wendy's 970 calories and 60 grams of fat
Double Beefy Burrito Taco Bell 680 and 42 grams of fat
Beef and Cheddar sandwich Arby's 650 and 33 grams of fat
Butter Burger Culver's 613 calories and 28 grams of fat
Monster Burger Hardee's 1320 calories and 95 grams of fat.
The Monster Burger Has 2 1/3 pound beef patties, 8 slices of bacon, 4 slices of cheese.  Wow!!

What is crazy is that you still have fries and a soda to consume.

It's cold...already?

My son plays football for a local team in which I have decided to be one of the coaches.  As I watched as my team scamper up and down the field in an effort to score point and play defence, I noticed that my teeth were chattering from the cold winds that seemed to be blowing through me.  As I stood there trembling from the cold I thought to myself, "winter is just around the corner".  Nine hellish months of snow and bitter cold are almost here.  I'm getting cold just thinking about what this year's winter has in store for us Minnesotans.  I for one and not quite ready for the long winter ahead.

"Every winter, When the great sun has turned his face away, The earth goes down into a vale of grief, And fasts, and weeps, and shrouds herself in sables, Leaving her wedding-garlands to decay - Then leaps in spring to his returning kisses."

When going gets tough the tough get dancing?

In my younger day's, when I was in the United States Army, I was about 215 lbs of solid muscle.  I could remember acting all tough when it came to doing anything physical.  When people wanted to wrestle, I was the guy who always won.  When people wanted to see who could do the most push-ups, I was always in the top spots.  When I went home at night I only watched, what I considered to be, manly TV.  I watched things like; football, wrestling, The Fox network, and anything that stimulated my mind.  I was often referred to as one of the most manly men around.

So there I was, sitting in one of my classes, when I noticed this young man walk through the door.  He stood about 6 feet 2 inches, about 220 lbs of muscle, and walked with a swagger that suggested that he was the baddest guy on the planet.  The class began and we (the student) started to introduce ourselves, it was finally this guys time to speak and introduce himself.  I thought to myself could this guy be the next manly man? could he be the guy to gain my respect as a tough guy? I waited in anticipation.

The Professor asked the class to answer three questions; "your name, occupation, and your favorite TV show". The guy who I felt could be a manly man opened with, "My name is Mark Steele".  A strong sounding name, I thought to my self. Currently, I am a full time student, I was just released from the U.S. Marine Corp". "I thought I'm pretty much sold, he get the title hands down."  One last question stood between Mark and him being considered a tough guy. As he started to respond to the last question, he sort of looked around at the class, took a deep breath and uttered the most disappointing word I ever heard,  "My favorite TV show is "Dancing with the Stars".  I thought I was going to die.

That goes to show you that you cannot judge a book by it cover.

School is back in session

After three months of summer vacation, school is back in session.  Yes!  I'm a parent of two junior high students who love their vacation time.  They love the fact that they can lounge around the house all day, sleep in, and do what they want to do because mom and dad are at work or school all day.

The problem, from a parents stand point is, that neither of my children want to do much outside of their freedoms.  I ask both of them to do simple chores, that would only take them about an hour to complete, but it seems that (from their response) that I'm asking way too much.  I don't see what so hard about cleaning up their rooms on a daily basis, putting the dishes in the dishwasher, or vacuuming the floor once in a while.  I mean seriously what is so hard about picking up a piece of paper that has been on the floor all day, or taking out an over flowing garbage that they continue to pack more and more junk on top of.  Some days I would walk in the house, look around, then go back outside to keep myself from getting angry.

Now that they are back in school I can walk into the house and know that everything is in its proper place.  No more dishes piled up in the sink.  No more dirty rooms.  No more half empty glasses or cup all over the house.  No more plates of food in their rooms that have been there for days.  I am so thankful for school because my blood pressure is back to normal, my hair is starting to grow back, and when I come home after a long day I don't have to hear my name called 1,000 times in an hour.  Thank God for school.

Cartoon

I don't have much to say about this picture because as the old saying goes "a picture say a thousand words".
Castro will never admit that his people are lost and have little due to communism.  In his own way he believes that Communism has brought prosperity to the small country ( maybe he should take a drive through the ghettos of Cuba).  The last time I checked people from Cuba are still trying to leave their home and take refuge in the United States.  This is a classic example of what not to do.

sex and violence on television and in movies should be restricted

I believe that sex and violence on television and in movies should be restricted.

Being sexual and violent equates to billions and billions of dollars, in these modern times, a person can view something sexual or violent with a simple click of a mouse, by turning on your television set or renting a movie. By today’s standards children and adults are watching at a minimum of four to six hours of television per day and are being overloaded with these images of violence and sex.

I have an eleven year old son and a thirteen year old daughter who are at the age where they are becoming more and more interested in the opposite sex. My son has even gotten to the point where he has females texting him on a regular asking him questions like; "Do you have a girlfriend". Although, my wife and I have taught our son to insure that all of his texts and phone call are appropriate we as parents still don’t know what the young ladies parent’s have taught them.  What is her meaning of boy friend? Is she sexually active? Did she learn from TV or a movie how boyfriend and girlfriend should act.

I feel the element of sex and violence in movies distorts the view and ideal that parents should be teaching their children.  If we (as parents) don't get a handle on what are children are watching on TV or in movies then we should not be surprised when little Johnny shoots up his high school or little Sara has sex and get pregnant at age fourteen.  TV and movies teach our kids how to be violent and sexual but they fail to show are children what to do after the actions have been complete and the negative actions that follow.

Just a thought... what do you think?

Why I Am Against the N word.

People in the hip hop generation, to include members of "Black Hollywood", claim to have flipped the "N word" from a negative word to a positive word. They claim that the uses of the word means brother hood, a term of endearing friendship, and to be accepted into a peer group. They also claim no race is limited to the use of this word. Recently, I watch the documentary "The N Word", and discovered that there were a few holes in the Hip Hop generation's pursuit to flip the "N word" to a positive.

The first hole I found is that 95% of the people interviewed said "that they would have a problem if a "White" (or any other race for that matter) person called them the "N word" whether they were a friend or a foe". After finding out that fact the first question that came into my mind was; "If the word now has a positive meaning, then what's the problem?" The problem is that that kind of thought process creates a double standard. It also lets me know that the people who continue to use the "N word" have not let go of the negative meanings behind the word.

The next hole I found was that people who use the "N word" do not like to be called ignorant. Dictionary.com defines the "N word" as "Extremely Disparaging and Offensive. a person of the black race or origin regarded as contemptible, inferior, ignorant, etc". Now that that fact is on the table do we still think its ok to call each other the "N word". Rene Descartes made the famous quote "I think therefore I am", which lead me to say, if we continue to think of ourselves as ignorant than we as a people will continue to labeled as such.

Just because a few people have decided that this word is now a positive and not a negative word doesn't erase the 372 years of slavery and oppression. It is time for "Black America" to change its frame of thinking. It time that we understand that we are more than just a bunch of "Niggas". We come from a line of royalty and should conduct ourselves in a manner that should reflect such. So, if you’re that person who still uses the "N word" to describe yourself or your friend and family, consider this; Stop it, you’re only making yourself and the rest of 'Black America" looks like fools.
